If you own a Brother MFC-7420N or MFC-7820N you have in all chance seen the message “Toner Life End” after installing a new toner cartridge. This message makes no sense at all for the simple reason that the toner cartridge you just put in is new so how can it be at it’s life’s end? We couldn’t find the fix in the handbook which is kind of weird seeing as that is the first place you would think of looking. Well come to find out resetting “Toner Life End” error message is really plain, here are the basic steps you need to take to rid yourself of this frustrating message.
Steps in Fixing ”Toner Life End” Error on Newly Installed Brother Brother MFC 7820N Toner Cartridges
Step 1 – Open the front cover of your Brother MFC-7820N where you can access the toner cartridges.
Step 2 – While the front cover is open and the machine is on, push the button “Options”.
Step 3 – Then push start.
Step 4 – Quickly type “1″ then “0″, (typing 10). Be quick enough in this step or else you have to start from the beginning of the procedure.
Step 5 – Wait until the machine show the term “Accepted”.
Step 6 – The Brother MFC 7820N toner cartridges is now reset and you can continue printing.
The Brother MFC 7820N should be reset and the Toner End of Life message should disappear. Warning, this may void your warranty and ultimately damage your machine if you are reusing or refilling your cartridges, but you should already know that. Hope this helps.
